Senior Resident Program

Senior Residents are appointed by the College to support the aims and values of the College in promoting the general well being and academic aspirations of its residents. Each Senior Resident works with another Senior Resident to provide personal and pastoral support to a group of approximately 50 students on each residential floor of each block. They also have an important supervision or discipline role in their corridor. It is their role to attend to complaints relating to inappropriate noise or breaches of College expectations, and in most cases to record these.

This is an integral part of their pastoral role to ensure respect and consideration of the rights of all students. Senior Residents also have a significant role on the College Discipline Committee which works with the Dean with regards to disciplinary matters in the College.

Because of their significant responsibilities it is important that all residents work closely with their Senior Resident, and get to know them well. Each Senior Resident chairs an important committee of the College to which residents are encouraged to be a part of.

Senior Residents also have a role in organising corridor activities and other social occasions, ensuring all international students meet Australian students, ensuring environmental awareness and organising formal dinners etc. A Senior Resident assumes the role of Women's Officer and Sexuality Officer.
