It’s a place where students feel at home as a part of the prestigious academic community at the ANU; with opportunities to mingle with professors and lecturers outside of study. We support our students in their academic endeavours offering tutorials and study help. We’re also big on getting involved in campus life, from sports to theatre and all that lies in between. No matter what your interests are John XXIII College can cater to your tastes and help you have an amazing and fulfilling residential tertiary experience.
We’re all about getting involved in life beyond your degree, formal dinners, trivia nights, music in the courtyard, inter-corridor events, balls and so much more. J23 will help you maintain that work-life balance while making friends for life.
Got a competitive side? We’ve got you covered with the Inter-Hall Sports Shield (which we’ve won 19 times in the last 20 years). But winning isn’t everything with teams for all genders, abilities and commitment levels.
Sport at Johns is huge and we don't just compete in the ANU competition as a College we engage in sporting tours both interstate and internationally.
In 2023 the College will be touring New Zealand competing in mens rugby, womens touch football, netball and mens and womens soccer.
J23 residents have many talents and passions, including a flair for theatre and an ear for music. Along with our own fully stocked music rooms, we get involved in multiple ANU events (and many impromptu performances just for fun!).
Community service is an important part of life at J23. Our 2 X Heads of Charity have oversight of our efforts in support of anumber of key charitable organisations and all students are asked to support this process.
J23 is an independent Catholic college that emphasises Christian values. We actively promote respect, honesty and justice in an inclusive environment. We welcome students of all faiths, although no religious affiliation is required to join the college.
We work closely with employers to support our students in their career aspirations as well as creating networks for employment opportunities whilst residing at the College.
We also have 50 leadership positions within the College who hold scholarships in accordance with their roles.
